Gunmen on Friday night attacked Bong Village of Doemak District in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, leaving at least seven persons dead. Also troops of Operation Enduring Peace of the 3 Division , Nigerian Army, Rukuba Barracks, Jos, neutralized five terrorists in a remote community in Wase Local Government Area of the state.
The Defence Headquarters made this known on Saturday in a press statement , adding that the wounded community people have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
In Qua’an Pan, the terrorists were said to have stormed the village while the residents were already asleep ,adding that the attackers launched a house to house invasion, as they targeted the elderly, children and women. Several people were while some persons were still missing.
Director of Press and Publicity to the Chairman of Qua’an Pan council, Danaan Cletus Sylvanus confirmed the attack to journalists, but said he could not be categorical about the casualty figure as at then .
However, the media and information officer of the Joint Taskforce of Operation Enduring Peace in Jos Major Samson Zhakom, confirmed the incidence.
