Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday formally swore in Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa as the Chairman of Agege Local Government, urging him to prioritize grassroots development and ensure that the council’s administration aligns with the state’s broader development agenda.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at Lagos House in Ikeja, also saw the inauguration of Toyin Adejimiwa as a Permanent Secretary. Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the new appointees and encouraged them to deliver efficient, transparent, and people-centered governance.
Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa, who is the son of Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudasiru Obasa, had previously served as the acting chairman of Agege Local Government before his official confirmation and formal inauguration.
The governor emphasized that local government administrations play a critical role in implementing state policies at the grassroots level, urging Obasa to focus on infrastructure, social services, and community development that directly impact residents’ lives.
