The Rivers State Police Command has neutralised two suspected kidnappers and rescued a female victim along Ozuaha Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
According to a statement from the command, the suspects were shot after they opened fire on police operatives who had stormed their hideout following credible intelligence.
The kidnappers were reportedly in the process of sharing the ransom collected from the victim’s family when officers of the Anti-Cultism Unit, acting on a tip-off, intercepted them.
The police commended the operatives for their swift response and reassured residents of the state’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes.
