The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that its Passport Digital Platform will undergo routine system maintenance, a move expected to cause temporary service disruptions for users.

The agency disclosed this in a public notice shared on its official X handle on Friday. The statement, signed by the NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, revealed that the maintenance window will run from 12:00 a.m. on 12 December to 6:00 a.m. on 14 December 2025 (GMT).

According to the NIS, the scheduled exercise is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance system performance, strengthen operational efficiency, and improve the overall user experience for applicants accessing digital passport services.

During the maintenance period, users may experience downtime or difficulty in accessing key services, including passport applications, payments, and tracking features.

The Service advised the public to plan ahead and complete time-sensitive transactions before the maintenance begins. Reaffirming its commitment to providing seamless and technology-driven service delivery, the NIS assured that normal operations will resume immediately after the upgrade is completed.
