A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jet has crashed near Karabonde in Niger State, triggering panic among residents of the surrounding communities.
Eyewitnesses said the aircraft went down moments after it was sighted flying unusually low, but confirmed that the two pilots on board successfully ejected before the jet hit the ground. Both officers reportedly survived and were seen parachuting into nearby bushes.
The Nigerian Air Force is yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the crash.
