Once again, another Yoruba religious leader has taken on Igbo people, and falsely claimed they cannot rule Nigeria because “they are cursed.” The first person to make such incendiary rhetoric was Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly. He has now been joined by a loquacious, good for nothing primate known as Elijah Ayodele.
He spoke recently with so much vehemence you can only imagine could come from an occultist. Echoing Pastor Bakare’s sentiments, the primate said that he was tired of Nigeria. “Hausas are not the problem but the Igbos. The curse is on you. If you don’t reverse that curse, I cannot see them rule Nigeria even in the next dispensation. The Igbos, he claimed, “are desperate for power at all costs. Even if Ten different (Peter) Obis come out; they are betrayal (sic) of themselves.”
Like a man put into a strange trance propelled from an alcoholic stupor, he said that he does not care if he is insulted for saying those nonsense; “it gives me more glory instead,” he asserts.
However, when an inconsequntial pastorpreneur stands on a man-made elevated platform which he claims to be a religious pulpit and begins to spew gibberish, it is not in the place of responsible and sensible people he insults to call him out for the hogwash he utters; it is in the place of those he represents to feel a sense of aghast that he is one of them.
That is my thought on the latest Igbophobia which Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele suffers from. He claims to be a “Spiritual leader, Prophet and founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church,” and those who are gullible or who look for signs and wonders follow him, sit down as he talks complete balderdash in the name of prophecy.
To me he has joined the infamous ranks of religious leaders and politicians who see the Igbo nation as their problem. Some of them have spent time and energy excoriating the Igbo people while their real enemies and problems lay somewhere else, staring them in the face.
For starters, “Primate is a diverse group that includes some 200 species. Monkeys, lemurs and apes are our cousins, and we all have evolved from a common ancestor over the last 60 million years. Because primates are related, they are genetically similar.”
Therefore, one can safely classify Primate Ayodele as “a monkey,” and when a monkey jumps from tree to tree, he casts a spectacle which entertains onlookers to a delight.
For Igbo people who feel angered by his latest attempt to make us feel hated, please stop wasting your time. Primate Ayodele is neither a man of God nor of God. He is one of the businessmen who dominate the religious sub-sector of our economy. He does not know God, was not called by God to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. He woke up one day, couldn’t find a better business to engage in, found out that Nigeria has a huge population of gullible people who believe he and his ilk are of God, and opened his own church business.
It would be recalled that the primate is known to have engaged in outrageous and outlandish prophecies over the years, all of which are conjectures and guess words from “an integrity challenged charlatan.”
At a point in the run up to the 2023 presidential election, he challenged the Yoruba nation to close ranks and take up the presidency of Nigeria. “Yoruba should shun quarrel; otherwise, the presidency will elude them. The Lord has told me that Yoruba presidency is under threat. It will elude them unless they immediately work together. Yoruba presidency is shaking, and that’s what I see,” he said.
He delights in mischief and is false prophet “who claims to predict the future or speak for a higher power but is actually misleading or lying — often implying deceit or inaccuracy.” (Courtesy, AI)
So, for my Igbo people, don’t fret over the idiocy of this false prophet and his jundiced words. No sane Yoruba person takes him seriously. Every ethnic group in Nigeria is desperate to rule the country and contribute to its growth and development. That’s why President Bola Tinubu said it was his turn and took it. Others will take theirs too, Igbos inclusive.
Rather than waste words on this primate, let’s focus on how to reach out to other ethnic nationalities towards actualizing our inalienable right to aspire and rule this nation, which we have paid heavy price to be part of.
Let those who go to his church business center to sit down and listen to his insane rhetoric take note that he’s not a man of God, but god of man. Like the others before him, he’s a tribal and religious bigot.
He should be ignored because he has no spiritual powers but occultic powers.
