The management of the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, has denied allegations by the institution’s branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that it failed to release audited financial accounts.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Registrar and Head of Information, Media and Public Relations Unit, Abdullahi Datti, the university said it inherited a backlog of unaudited accounts from previous administrations but had since taken steps to address the issue.
According to Datti, the current management promptly engaged external auditors who have successfully audited all pending accounts and made the reports public in line with principles of transparency and accountability.
“The present university administration met a backlog of unaudited accounts upon assumption of office. We immediately took action by engaging professional external auditors who have audited and released all outstanding financial statements for public access,” the statement read.
He described ASUU’s allegations as “baseless and misleading,” noting that the university remains committed to openness and fiscal responsibility in all its operations.
Datti further stated that the management’s financial dealings strictly comply with the regulations of the Kano State Government and international best practices for tertiary institutions.
“The university operates transparently and welcomes scrutiny.
We encourage all stakeholders, including ASUU, to seek clarification from the appropriate channels rather than spreading misinformation that could damage the institution’s image,” he added.
The spokesman reaffirmed ADUSTECH’s commitment to maintaining a harmonious working relationship with staff unions, fostering accountability, and sustaining the institution’s mission of academic excellence and institutional integrity.
