The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has cautioned Nigerians to disregard fraudulent messages circulating online about the ongoing 2025 paramilitary recruitment exercise.
In a statement posted on its official X handle late Wednesday, the board described the messages as scams aimed at defrauding unsuspecting applicants. It noted that some fraudsters have been sending fake emails and text messages, falsely claiming to represent the board or its affiliated agencies.
“The Board wishes to inform the general public that it does not communicate with applicants through email or SMS,” the statement read.
“All genuine information and updates regarding the ongoing recruitment are strictly available on the CDCFIB’s official portal.”
It further advised applicants to rely solely on official communication channels for accurate updates and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
The CDCFIB reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process, assuring Nigerians that only qualified candidates who meet the established criteria will be considered.
The 2025 recruitment exercise, which covers agencies such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has entered an advanced stage, with thousands of applicants nationwide awaiting the next phase of screening.
