Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, describing them as transformative measures that are restoring investor confidence and attracting more Nigerians to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Otu, who made the remarks on Thursday in Calabar, said the President’s policies have laid a strong foundation for long-term economic recovery and sustainable growth, despite the initial challenges being faced by citizens.
He noted that Tinubu’s decision to implement far-reaching reforms in the oil, fiscal, and monetary sectors demonstrates political courage and a clear vision for Nigeria’s economic stability.
“President Tinubu’s reforms are repositioning the economy and rekindling hope among Nigerians,” Otu stated. “The APC is gaining more acceptance because people can see that the government is taking difficult but necessary steps to secure a better future for the country.”
The governor pointed to ongoing initiatives in infrastructure, agriculture, and job creation as clear indicators that the administration is committed to inclusive development. He added that the impact of these reforms would become more visible as implementation deepens and economic adjustments take effect.
“Change is never easy, but what we are witnessing is a rebuilding process,” Otu said. “The President has shown leadership, resilience, and sincerity of purpose, and that is why many people and political leaders are now identifying with the APC.”
He urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the government’s efforts, assuring that the short-term pains would soon give way to tangible economic gains.
Governor Otu reaffirmed Cross River State’s commitment to aligning with the Federal Government’s development agenda, especially in areas that promote investment, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
