Enugu State and Ndi Igbo as a people have never failed to choose justice, fairness, and competence over sentiment. In every election, we have always voted for the best, not minding where the person comes from. That has been the true spirit of the Igbo man.

Let history remind us that the Igbo spirit is never selfish.

We supported Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a Yoruba man, because we believed in his ideas. We stood behind Chief Moshood Abiola, another Yoruba man, because he represented hope and unity. Even the North has enjoyed our support in different elections because the Igbo man believes that good leadership should not be tied to tribe.

Our history proves that Ndi Igbo stand for what is right, not what is convenient.

But today, God has given us one of our own, a man whose character and record speak for him, in the person of His Excellency Mr. Peter Gregory Obi. Yet, some of our people have allowed selfish interest and greed to blind them from the truth. It is shameful that when others supported our own in the past, some of us now turn our backs on the best leader Nigeria has seen in decades.

This betrayal of conscience is a wound to our collective identity.

Peter Obi stands for everything our forefathers taught us: truth, hard work, humility, and accountability. He has shown that leadership is not about sharing money but about building a better society. Any true Igbo son or daughter who goes against Peter Obi at this time is simply betraying his people and selling our collective pride for peanuts.

Our loyalty should be guided by conscience, not by what we gain.

We supported others when they had the best, and now that the best is from among us, we must stand together. This is not the time for envy or division. It is the time for unity, the time to prove that Ndi Igbo reward merit when it comes from their own.

Let unity be our strength and not our weakness.

This matter goes beyond politics; it touches the soul of our people. Posterity will remember those who stood firm for justice and also remember those who betrayed it for personal gain. Let no true son of the East be found on the wrong side of history.

Our actions today will echo in the hearts of generations to come.

Peter Obi is not just an Igbo project; he represents the hope of every Nigerian who desires a better country. Let us show the world that when one of our own stands tall for truth, we stand with him completely. That is the true spirit of Ndi Igbo.

Let us be proud of who we are and what we stand for.

Let us not bring shame to our land through betrayal. Let us bring pride and blessing through loyalty to truth and justice.

Our unity behind Peter Obi is our strength, our dignity, and our future.
