President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday began a working visit to Lagos State, where he is expected to inspect ongoing federal projects and engage with key stakeholders across the state.
The president, who arrived in Lagos earlier in the day, was received at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, top government officials, and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During the visit, Tinubu is scheduled to tour critical infrastructure projects, including federal roads and housing initiatives, while also holding closed-door meetings with business leaders and traditional rulers. Presidency sources say the visit is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the federal and state governments in advancing development in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
While in Lagos, the president is also expected to review security arrangements in the state, with emphasis on maritime safety, port access roads, and urban transportation reforms.
The visit marks one of Tinubu’s periodic engagements with his home state since assuming office, reflecting his administration’s pledge to remain connected with citizens and ensure that Lagos — Nigeria’s economic hub — continues to play its strategic role in national growth.
