Meanwhile, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of a woman in her fifties accused of carrying out a railway sabotage attack on behalf of Ukrainian intelligence. The agency alleged that in August 2025, the suspect built a homemade explosive device from readily available materials, placed it on the Trans-Siberian Railway in the Zabaikalsky region, and detonated it. She reportedly filmed the blast and sent the footage to her handler in exchange for payment.
The FSB further warned that Ukrainian intelligence services are using social media and messaging apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp to recruit Russians for sabotage operations. It cited another case involving a Bryansk region resident who allegedly retrieved explosives from a cache after establishing contact with a banned group via Telegram.
