The incident happened late Friday night at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, after a full day of cooking. A crane was used to raise the pot onto a scale to measure its weight, a critical step for official Guinness verification. However, the pot gave way under its own weight, causing panic among spectators.
Fans gathered at the venue screamed in shock as event staff quickly halted operations to prevent injuries. Social media videos of the collapse went viral, though it remains unclear if the weighing was eventually completed.
