Sen. Jarigbe Agom-Jarigbe has inaugurated the first phase of the 2km Busangfong-Ikom-Obudu road in Bisu, Obanliku LGA, Cross River, benefiting communities in his senatorial district.

The senator commissioned the 1km completed section, which includes proper side drains, on Sunday, marking progress on the long-awaited road project.

He noted that the road had been neglected for years, making it extremely difficult for residents to commute or evacuate farm produce, affecting their livelihoods and economic opportunities across the region.

Agom-Jarigbe reaffirmed his commitment to improving the standard of living of constituents by attracting key development projects and basic infrastructure to underserved communities across Cross River North.

He assured the people of his determination to ensure that the remaining section of the road would be completed soon, further improving access to markets and neighbouring communities.

The lawmaker called for continued support from residents as he worked toward achieving comprehensive infrastructural development across all Local Government Areas within the senatorial district.

“God has used us to contribute positively to our people’s lives. We’re grateful for this opportunity to commission this project and thank God for its successful completion.

“I know much remains to be done, and I am committed to delivering on my mandate. All I ask is for your continued support and prayers as we move forward,” he said.

The Clan Head of Bisu Nation, Chief Gabriel Adaba, speaking for the traditional council and communities, commended the senator for his efforts and pledged full community support going forward.

He emphasised that the road project would undoubtedly boost local income, as easier access to markets would enhance their economic activities and improve the livelihood of farmers in the area.
