English League Cup holders Newcastle United will host third-tier Bradford City in the third round as they begin their title defence.
Newcastle, who ended a 70-year domestic trophy drought by beating Liverpool last season, received a bye into the third round with other European-qualified Premier League clubs.
Liverpool, last season’s runners-up, will play at home against Southampton in another all-top-tier fixture.
Manchester City travel to League One side Huddersfield Town, while Chelsea face Lincoln City and Arsenal visit Port Vale.
Fourth-tier Grimsby Town, who shocked Manchester United in the second round, will visit Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Two all-Premier League ties feature Brentford hosting Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers playing Everton.
Other Premier League sides have drawn lower-league opposition in what promises to be an open third round.
