THE Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted popular Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, fondly called K1, for his misconduct at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
NCAA said K1 would be blacklisted for six months.
The NCAA spokesperson, Michael Achimugu, made the declaration at a press briefing on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
Achimugu said: “What I must assure the general public is that everybody involved in this will be brought to book.
“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months from flying in Nigeria.”
The NCAA spokesperson further stated that aviation rules were global and made for the safety of all, stressing that no individual would be exempted from accountability.
“We will do everything we can to get to the root of it (the incident). Everybody who needs to be punished or sanctioned will receive justice,” he said.
Achimugu also said that the NCAA would write to the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to initiate legal proceedings against K1.
When asked whether the veteran musician would be spared prosecution due to his close ties with President Bola Tinubu, the NCAA spokesperson said both Tinubu and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, were committed to upholding the rule of law.
