Royal Aces basketball female Club of Abuja, on Monday, secured a 63-52 victory over Nigeria Customs Service basketball Club in a closely contested match at the Zenith Bank 2025 Women’s Basketball Premier League.

In the second quarter, Royal Aces turned the tide, outscoring Nigeria Customs 19-14, and took a commanding lead.
Royal Aces maintained their momentum, winning the third quarter scoring 15 points to Nigeria Customs` 12 points ending the half at 47-41.
Royal Aces sealed their win, outscoring Nigeria Customs in the final set 63-52. This win showcases Royal Aces’ determination and skill.
Speaking after the match, Segun Ojo, head coach of Royal Aces Basketball Club, said his team has concluded the current phase of the Women’s League on a high note, with six wins and one loss out of seven games.
He expressed gratitude for the team’s performance, acknowledging that they are still building and growing.
“ In the Zenith Bank 2024 Women’s Basketball Premier League, the team made the top four in Nigeria and qualified for the final eight after finishing third in the Savannah Conference during the second phase.
“I believe that with more time to work on the team, we can achieve even greater success in the league.
“ We hope to carry this momentum into the next phase in Jos, towards the end of August, where we will look to build on progress made and make a strong impression,” he said.
In other matches, Plateau Rocks beat Kada Angels 63-34, Ham Warriors lost to Nasarawa Amazons 68-74, and Air Warriors lost to Titans Basketball 57-58.
The teams participating in the league include Air Warriors, Titans Basketball, Kada Angels, Plateau Rocks, Royal Aces, Nasarawa Amazons, Ham Warriors, and Nigeria Customs.
The league, which began on Tuesday, ended on Monday at the indoor hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
