Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, calling him a great man and symbol of honesty.
In a personally signed statement on Sunday in Lafia, Sule said he received the news of Buhari’s death with deep sorrow and a profound sense of national loss.

He described Buhari as not only a leader but an elder statesman whose life reflected honesty, discipline, and a strong commitment to the Nigerian cause.

“Throughout his life, Buhari remained a beacon of integrity and patriotism, never wavering in his selfless service to Nigeria,” Sule stated.

He noted that Buhari’s leadership was marked by simplicity, humility, and duty — qualities that earned him admiration both within and outside Nigeria.

According to him, Buhari’s relationship with Nasarawa State was genuine; he was a friend, father figure, and source of guidance across generations of leaders.

“As we mourn this rare patriot in Nasarawa State, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, conviction, and an unwavering sense of honour,” Sule added.

He said Nigeria has lost a statesman, but Buhari’s legacy of truth and service will continue to inspire future generations.

Sule prayed that God forgive Buhari’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

He also prayed for God’s comfort and strength for Buhari’s family, friends, associates, and the nation during this time of deep grief.
