The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released results for the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Out of 96,838 candidates scheduled, only 11,161 sat the exam and have had their results made available, according to JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin in a Sunday statement. The board noted that unsuccessful result retrievals stem from incorrect compliance with the SMS format, candidates must send “UTMERESULT” (as one word) to 55019 or 66019 using the same number used during registration.

In the same release, JAMB provided an update on its extensive investigation into a syndicate involved in the production of fake admission letters. Working with the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime Centre, five key suspects have been arrested and are currently facing trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja. So far, 17,417 candidates have been flagged, with 6,903 cleared after correcting discrepancies. However, 10,514 remain under investigation 5,669 for outright forgery, 4,832 for bypassing official admissions procedures, and 3,300 are still under scrutiny.

JAMB warns that non-compliance with result-check procedures will result in delayed access to results. The board emphasises its commitment to ensuring the integrity of Nigeria’s admission process and will continue to prosecute any candidate found to have engaged with fraudulent actors under the Examination Malpractices Act.
