The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has extended humanitarian support to victims of the recent flood disaster in Mokwa, Niger State, by donating food items to affected families. The gesture came as part of the association’s ongoing commitment to offering relief to vulnerable communities hit by natural disasters.
According to CAN representatives, the donation included essential items such as rice, beans, garri, and other staple foodstuffs, aimed at easing the hardship faced by displaced residents. Local officials and community leaders who received the donation commended the Christian body for standing with the people in their time of need and called on other religious and civil groups to emulate the example.
The Mokwa flood, which struck earlier this month following heavy rains, left many homes submerged and several families homeless. Relief efforts have been underway across various quarters, with CAN’s intervention seen as a timely act of solidarity with victims struggling to recover.
