The coalition of opposition politicians working to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 has finally adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their official platform.
His Excellency Peter Obi’s one-term proposal has also been sent to the coalition, which is in line with zoning the presidency between the North and South. This move shows that strategic political realignments are already taking shape ahead of 2027.
Earlier on Tuesday, key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced their decision to dump the party after a meeting in Abuja. It has now been confirmed that after months of search and consultations, ADC has emerged as the beautiful bride that will carry the hopes of the coalition.
As part of the preparations, former Senate President David Mark has been appointed as the interim National Chairman of ADC, while former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, is the interim National Secretary.
In his acceptance speech delivered Tuesday night, Aregbesola said he was taking up the mandate with deep humility, a profound sense of duty, and unwavering hope for our people, nation, race, and party.
