The Presidency has officially dismissed recent online rumours suggesting that Senator George Akume has been replaced as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). A statement issued today by the News Agency of Nigeria clarified that Akume continues to hold the position, affirming the confidence of President Tinubu and the wider administration.
Insiders say the clarification aims to quell growing uncertainty among government officials and political analysts, many of whom had started questioning the stability within the Presidential Advisory Team. While no reason was given for the rumours, officials emphasised that Akume remains fully operational in driving national policy coordination and bureaucratic oversight.
