A suspected kidnapper has been apprehended at the Izom Cattle Market in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State after an Abuja victim identified him during a visit. According to reports, the suspect was involved in the abduction of two herders and their driver near Daku in Abuja’s Gwagwalada area council on June 9, which ended with the victims’ release following payment of a ₦15 million ransom. Vigilante members, acting quickly on the victim’s tip, arrested the suspect before mob action could erupt.

On arrest, the suspect was found carrying cigarettes, tramadol, cough syrup, and what is believed to be cannabis. He is currently in police custody in Lambata, Niger State, and has reportedly confessed to his role in the abduction, aiding security forces in identifying other gang members involved.

Authority figures are urging the public to remain vigilant and continue collaborating with law enforcement to report suspicious activities. Sources say investigations are ongoing as police work to dismantle the broader network behind this crime.
