Brazil’s Vice‑President Geraldo Alckmin and his wife, Maria Alckmin, landed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Tuesday, marking the start of the second session of the Nigeria‑Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism. They were received by Deputy Chief of Staff Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, alongside Ministers Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade & Investment), Idi Maiha (Livestock), and Abubakar Kyari (Agriculture & Food Security).
The high‑level visit is expected to unlock collaboration across key sectors including trade, agriculture, energy, and education. Nigerian officials describe it as a “watershed in South‑South diplomacy,” with early talks reportedly focusing on joint ventures, technology transfer, and shared infrastructure projects. It’s seen as a major step toward reinforcing economic ties and expanding bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
