President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Nigerian Muslims and the global Ummah as they mark the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, calling for a renewed commitment to the values of sacrifice, devotion, and unity. In his annual Eid message, the president described the festival as a profound reminder of the virtues exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and reinforced by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), urging citizens to reflect deeply on the spiritual and moral essence of the occasion.
He noted that while Eid-el-Kabir is a time of joy, it also calls for resilience, tolerance, and compassion, especially in the face of Nigeria’s current challenges. Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the country is moving beyond its toughest phase, saying, “Though the journey has not been easy… the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with the steadfast support of most Nigerians, is yielding results.” He emphasized that his administration’s reforms are beginning to show promise and that “a new era of renewed hope and prosperity” is on the horizon.
Tinubu also expressed sympathy for victims of recent flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, and urged collective prayers and support for the affected community. He encouraged Nigerians to show generosity and solidarity with the less privileged during the celebrations, underscoring that “Eid-el-Kabir enjoins love, compassion, and generosity for all, regardless of faith or background.”
The president closed his message with prayers for the nation’s unity, security forces, and leadership at all levels. “Let us dedicate this sacred celebration to seeking God’s guidance and blessings for our country,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to transforming lives and steering Nigeria toward lasting development.
