Dear Mr. Peter Obi, @PeterObi
My name is Olumuyiwa, but everyone calls me Flexx. I’m a proud Yoruba man from Ibadan, a father, and a deeply passionate Nigerian who has refused to give up hope because of you.
I write this letter with a heavy but determined heart.
I have been your supporter since 2019, not because of tribe, religion, or any political sentiment, but because I did my research and discovered a man who stood out with character, competence, and genuine love for this country.
You earned my trust, and I gave my full support without hesitation. I campaigned with my money during the last election. I printed banners, fliers, and even POS signs saying “Peter Obi Service” to spread the word. I mobilized my family and friends to get their PVCs. On election day, in an APC-dominated area, we didn’t just show up. We stood our ground. We made sure every single vote was counted.
We gave you 97 votes, right behind APC’s 102. PDP got just 7. That result alone tells the story of what your candidacy means to many of us real people, working class people, who just want a future in this country.
So, hearing the recent talks about a possible coalition with Atiku Abubakar, especially one that puts you as a vice presidential candidate, breaks my heart. I won’t lie, I am angry, disappointed, and scared that the hope we found in you is being negotiated away in the name of politics.
Please, sir, don’t let anyone talk you out of your purpose. You are our light in this dark tunnel. You are the one who changed the narrative in 2023. You made millions of young people believe that character and capacity can win in Nigeria. You gave us something we’ve never truly had: a reason to believe again.
You’ve seen the sacrifices we made. You’ve seen how far we went even with little resources. We did it because of YOU. And we’re ready to do it again and even more, but only if you’re on the ballot as the presidential candidate.
I say this respectfully but boldly:
If you accept to run as a vice president under any coalition, I and many like me will not vote, we will not campaign, and we will not be involved. My entire household feels the same way. We’re not interested in compromise. We’re interested in change, and we believe that change can only come if you lead from the front.
Please, sir, don’t let them clip your wings. You’ve earned your place. Stand tall. Be firm. We are with you, not because it’s easy, but because it’s right.
