The Kebbi State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property of people in the state.
He gave the assurance in a statement made public by the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, following the successful rescue of Augustine Madubiya, a 400-level student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, who was abducted on Tuesday by unknown gunmen.
He stated that, immediate response to such issues is key to achieveing results.
According to Ahmed, Augustine was rescued within 48 hours of abduction by the security forces in collaboration with local vigilante groups.
The statement added that, the prompt recovery of the kidnapped student was a testament to Governor Nasir Idris’s commitment to fighting crime.
The Commissioner reflected on the challenging security landscape faced by the state upon Governor Idris’s assumption of office.
Concerning the ongoing threats poised by the Lakurawa bandits, the Commissioner assured citizens that the state government is leaving no stone unturned to resolve these security challenges. “Governor Nasir Idris is tirelessly working to implement strategies to mitigate the threats arising from these criminal elements”.
Alhaji Ahmed urged communities in affected areas to collaborate with security agencies and provide essential information to further expedite the process of restoring peace.
