The Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board said no fewer than 1,000 intending pilgrims in the state have made full payment of the N8.4m each for the 2025 Hajj.
The spokesman of the board, Mr Habits Yusuf, made this known in a statement in Dutse on Thursday.
Yusuf said the over 1,000 seats paid for were out of the 1,809 allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Quoting the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Labbo and the zonal officers were advised to discharge their duties with the fear of God to enable the board have a successful hajj.
” The DG, assured everyone that, the board is committed to ensuring a seamless exercise as it plans to improve on its previous operations.
According to him, the board had commenced an orientation programme for the intending pilgrims across the 27 local government areas of the state.
“The training was focused on obligations, tenets, and cardinal principles of the Hajj, thereby allowing the intending pilgrims to know the acceptable Hajj rites.
“The intending pilgrims are therefore advised to attend the training given its importance.”
The DG also lauded Gov. Umar Namadi, for his continued support to the board, which made the ongoing orientation of the intending pilgrims and other operations of the board a success.
