Lobi lose 1-0 at home to Enyimba in Bauchi in week 22 of NPFL

Enyimba Football Club (FC) of Abia  on Monday  defeated  Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi 1-0 in the week 22 fixture of the 2024/25 Premier Football League (NPFL) at the their adopted Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, (ATBS) Bauchi .

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Lobi Stars of Makurdi will now play their remaining home matches in the ongoing NPFL season at the Abubakar Tafawa from Lafia Stadium.

Ifeanyi Ihemekwe took the lead and scored the first goal in the 40 minutes of the match on resumption  of second half, both Enyimba FC and Lobi Stars the host mounted pressure but all avail.

They gave up a good fight to win the match, but life was difficult for the home team on matchday 22 of the NPFL, with away taking the three points.

The visiting Enyimba are in 8th position while the host Lobi stars are in 19th position of the season.

Daniel Amokachi, Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars FC in a post match press briefing, expressed sadness over the loss, saying the match is always like that either win or lose.

“We are going back to the drawing board to see how we will tackle the next match,” he said.

Amokachi appreciated Bauchi fans for the large turnout at the stadium to support the team.

Coach of Enyimba FC, Stanley Eguma, congratulated the team for their winning efforts in the match.

“We are still trying to understand ourselves and the players working to move forward with time as we will progress.

“Therefore, it is not time to celebrate, we have to work hard and strive in the season,” Eguma said.
