Tourists who participate in this year’s Carnival Calabar will be insured against all forms of personal accidents along the 12km carnival route.
The insurance which will fall under the Group Personal Accidents Insurance was disclosed during the third dry run in preparation for this year’s carnival.
Giving some details on this, a representative of International Energy Insurance (IEI), Esheru Osime, said “we have entered into a partnership with the government to insure people along the 12km carnival route against any form of personal accidents.
“This will fall under the Group Personal Insurance and adequate compensation measures have been put in place to cater for participants in case of any accident, eventualities, or even death,” she said.
