The Lagos State Government has extended the amnesty period for property owners and developers lacking Planning Permits until December 31, 2024. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the extension during the recent Lagos Physical Planning Summit at Eko Hotels and Suites.

This extension offers property owners in Lagos a further opportunity to secure necessary approvals without incurring penalties or additional costs. The Lagos State Government shared the update on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, with a statement noting, “For another two-month period, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has extended the amnesty period for owners and developers of buildings lacking Planning Permits until December 31, 2024.”

This marks the second extension by Governor Sanwo-Olu; the initial 90-day amnesty, which began on May 2 and ended on July 30, 2024, was previously extended to October.
