Operational collaboration within the Nigerian Army received a major boost as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, applauded the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) for its exceptional logistics and administrative support to the Division.
The commendation came during a familiarisation visit by the Commander NACST, Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, to the Division’s Headquarters in Lagos.
The General Officer Commanding 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, has commended the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) for its remarkable support and professionalism, describing the Corps as an indispensable partner in the Division’s operational successes.
He gave the commendation on 21 November 2025 during a familiarisation visit to the Division’s Headquarters by the Commander NACST, Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya.
The visit, held at 3 Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, underscored the Army’s commitment to strengthening inter-corps cooperation for greater efficiency.
Major General Mijinyawa highlighted the vital role NACST has played since his assumption of office, including the deployment of skilled drivers, catering personnel, and critical logistics support that have enhanced the Division’s
operational outcomes.
He praised Major General Shagaya on his well-deserved appointment and commended NACST officers and soldiers for their professionalism and dedication.
The GOC also noted the cordial relationship between 81 Division and NACST, assuring that the Division remains committed to deepening the existing partnership for improved service delivery and mission readiness.
Earlier, Major General Shagaya explained that his visit was aimed at strengthening the longstanding cooperation between the Corps and 81 Division.
He outlined ongoing initiatives targeted at repositioning NACST for enhanced service efficiency and encouraged the Division to leverage these programmes. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged sustained support to the Division.
Staff officers from both Headquarters 81 Division and NACST were present at the engagement. The visit featured the signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
