The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, has reaffirmed the Division’s commitment to deeper collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force to reinforce security across Lagos and Ogun States. He made the pledge while receiving the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Suleh, during a courtesy visit to the Division’s Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, on 3 December 2025.

Major General Mijinyawa said the relative peace being enjoyed within the Division’s Area of Responsibility is a direct result of the strong cooperation among the Armed Forces and other security agencies. Describing Lagos and Ogun as pivotal commercial centres, he stressed that sustained inter-agency synergy is vital for maintaining stability, attracting investors, and supporting economic growth.

The GOC assured that the Nigerian Army remains committed to working closely with the Air Force in idea-sharing, operational coordination, and joint efforts aimed at strengthening security. He congratulated Air Vice Marshal Suleh on his appointment as AOC Logistics Command and wished him a successful tenure.

In his remarks, Air Vice Marshal Suleh said his visit was aimed at deepening existing collaboration between the two services. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s readiness to provide air support, logistics and other operational assistance to enhance the Division’s effectiveness and contribute to national security.

The visit featured the signing of the Visitors’ Book, souvenir exchange, and a group photograph—symbolic highlights that underscored the continued commitment to enhanced synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force.
