The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State says a road accident has claimed eight lives at the front of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko on Wednesday night.

Dr Samuel Ibitoye, FRSC State Sector Commander, made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Akure.

Ibitoye, who said the accident involved a motorcycle and truck loaded with cement, explained that five male adults, two female adults and one male child were killed in the incident.

The sector commander said the accident happened after the truck avoided a motorcycle and ran into a barricade in front of the univeraity, hence, losing control which resulted in the crash.

“Eight people were killed on the spot while the bodies have been deposited at the morgue of a hospital in the town,” he said

Ibitoye, therefore, advised drivers and road users to always obey traffic rules and regulations of the road to avoid crashes.
