The Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos has launched the official digital platforms of the Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, in a strategic move to deepen evangelisation, strengthen engagement with the faithful and expand the Church’s presence in the digital space.

The initiative provides Catholics and people of goodwill with direct access to the Archbishop’s pastoral ministry through faith-filled reflections, spiritual teachings, pastoral messages, prayers, archdiocesan updates, and coverage of major Church events and celebrations.

Announcing the launch, the Archbishop’s Secretary, Rev. Fr. Ariole Paul, described the platforms as an important avenue for fostering stronger communion between the Archbishop and the faithful.

“I write to present the official digital platforms of His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, Archbishop of Lagos,” Fr. Paul said. “These platforms provide an opportunity for the faithful and all people of goodwill to remain connected to the pastoral ministry, reflections, teachings and messages of our Archbishop.”

According to him, followers of the platforms will receive “faith-filled reflections and spiritual insights, pastoral messages and guidance, important archdiocesan updates and announcements, coverage of significant events and celebrations, as well as words of hope and encouragement for daily living.”

Fr. Paul noted that the initiative reflects the Church’s commitment to embracing digital communication as a tool for evangelisation and pastoral outreach. “In a rapidly changing world, authentic voices of faith are needed now more than ever,” he said. “We invite you to follow, engage, share and become part of this growing digital community of faith.”

Archbishop Martins, in his message accompanying the launch, expressed the hope that the platforms would become instruments of spiritual renewal and unity. “May these platforms serve as a source of faith, hope and communion for all God’s people,” the Archbishop said.

The Archbishop’s official platforms are available on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and TikTok, offering followers multiple channels through which to receive regular spiritual nourishment, pastoral guidance and timely information on the activities of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos.

Fr. Paul urged priests, religious and lay faithful to promote the platforms within their parishes, families and communities, encouraging everyone to “stay connected, be inspired and journey in faith” by following and sharing the Archbishop’s official digital channels.

The launch underscores the Archdiocese’s commitment to digital evangelisation, leveraging modern communication technologies to proclaim the Gospel and foster a vibrant online community rooted in faith, hope and Christian fellowship.
