Governors across the South-East region, comprising Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo (Anambra), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Dr. Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Sen. Hope Uzodimma (Imo), have rallied the people of the region to reject political distractions and vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The joint call was made on Saturday morning, October 31, 2026, during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Mega Rally and Empowerment Programme for the South-East, hosted at the iconic Michael Okpara Square in Enugu.
Host Governor Dr. Peter Mbah urged South-Easterners to remain resolute and back President Tinubu’s re-election bid to consolidate on federal economic reforms that are delivering development directly to the region.
”A good sailor does not abandon his ship mid-sea because of challenges. We must finish the journey we all started together,” Mbah declared. “The South-East has strategic investments across Nigeria, and we stand to gain the most by remaining at the center of national leadership.”
Speaking on behalf of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Gilbert Ibezim emphasized that the South-East owes a duty of political alignment in appreciation of key federal interventions.
Representing the Federal Legislature, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu reminded the audience of President Tinubu’s long-standing inclusive politics, pointing to his history of appointing South-East leaders during his tenure as Lagos State Governor, as well as signing the South East Development Commission (SEDC) bill into law.
Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru praised the APC’s development-focused agenda, dismissing claims of opposition coalitions as mere distractions meant to derail the region’s economic momentum.
The rally doubled as a massive welfare initiative, providing direct financial assistance, medical debt relief, and trade tools to thousands of women from across all five South-Eastern states.
Organized ahead of the upcoming electoral cycles beginning in early 2027, party leaders reaffirmed that the region’s political future lies in a unified alliance with the ruling administration.
