Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerian women that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will sustain and expand its policies and targeted interventions aimed at economic empowerment and gender inclusion.
The Vice President gave the assurance on Monday, October 12, 2026, during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Tinubu/Shettima Women Support Group at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of the administration, Vice President Shettima emphasized the critical role women play in nation-building and national stability. He reiterated that the administration remains steadfast in prioritizing initiatives that elevate women economically and socially.
”Women are the backbone of every society, and the growth and stability of every nation depend on them,” Shettima stated, delivering goodwill and assurances directly from President Tinubu. “I want to convey to you the full support of the President to enable you to carry out your activities successfully”.
Speaking during the visit, the National Coordinator of the support group, Mrs. Mangai, announced that the coalition is mobilising massive grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Mrs. Mangai commended the administration’s economic reforms, comparing them to “the resetting of a broken bone” that requires patience to heal fully. She noted that the group retained the Tinubu/Shettima identity to ensure continuity and consolidation of ongoing federal initiatives.
”We are convinced that Nigeria is in the hands of a good captain capable of navigating the ship to a safe harbor,” Mangai said, pledging that the group will rally millions of female voters across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to secure victory for the ruling party in 2027.
