Katsina became a hub of political mobilisation on Monday as Governor Dikko Radda made a strong case for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, arguing that continuity at the centre would translate into deeper development at the state and local government levels. Speaking at a gathering organised by Concerned Katsina APC Stakeholders, Radda said returning Tinubu for a second term would strengthen the capacity of states and local government councils to deliver tangible dividends of democracy to Nigerians in their communities.
The event, which doubled as an endorsement forum for both the governor and the president, drew a wide spectrum of party leaders and political heavyweights from across the state. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the roll call of attendees included senators, members of the House of Representatives, lawmakers from the Katsina State House of Assembly, local government chairmen and respected elders of the state.
Former governors of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Masari and Alhaji Ibrahim Shema, were also present, lending weight to the endorsement as stakeholders publicly declared their support for Tinubu and Radda ahead of the 2027 general elections. Radda told the gathering that sustained collaboration between the federal, state and local governments was critical for effective governance, noting that policy consistency and political stability would allow ongoing projects and reforms to mature.
The endorsements, observers say, signal early political alignment within the Katsina APC, as party leaders rally around continuity and consolidate support for both the presidency and the state government ahead of the next election cycle.
