Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that his political future beyond 2027 rests solely in the hands of God, stressing that no individual or group has the power to dictate his destiny.
Speaking at a special gathering with party loyalists and stakeholders in Kano on Monday, Governor Yusuf said he remains focused on fulfilling his campaign promises rather than being distracted by speculations about the next election cycle.
“Only God Almighty determines the future of every individual. For me, what matters now is to deliver on the mandate given to me by the people of Kano State. 2027 is in God’s hands, not in the hands of any mortal,” Yusuf stated.
The governor urged political actors to place the interests of the people above personal ambitions, noting that good governance and service delivery should be the priority of any leader.
Yusuf also used the occasion to reiterate his administration’s commitment to education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment. He assured residents that ongoing reforms in key sectors would be sustained to improve living standards across the state.
The governor, who came to power in 2023 after a fiercely contested election, has faced political opposition and legal battles since assuming office. However, he maintained that his faith in God and the support of Kano citizens remain unshaken.
“As leaders, we must always remember that power belongs to God, and He gives it to whom He wills at the appointed time. My focus is to work hard today and leave tomorrow for Him to decide,” Yusuf added.
