The National Leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially commissioned its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja as part of strategic measures to solidify its structural foundation and streamline operations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The official unveiling ceremony took place on Monday, October 26, 2026, in the Jabi district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The commissioning followed an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which convened earlier at 10:00 AM at the JD Vance Centre, located opposite A-Class Park along Kashim Ibrahim Way in Maitama, Abuja.
The newly established facility in Jabi will double as the administrative headquarters of the party and serve as the central base for coordinating political strategy and campaign operations across Nigeria.
Addressing party leaders and members during the ceremony, NDC National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson characterized the new facility as the party’s “Noah’s Ark” ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
He congratulated supporters on the milestone, describing the secretariat as a unifying hub designed to accommodate the party’s expanding membership and to present a formidable political alternative for the 2027 polls.
The commissioning event coincided with the formal unveiling of the party’s National Campaign Council and the presentation of Certificates of Return to key candidates.
The occasion brought together senior political leaders and key stakeholders, including NDC National Chairman Senator Moses Cleopas, Senator Victor Umeh representing Anambra Central, and Rivers State governorship candidate Dumo Lulu-Briggs.
Outlining the leadership structure for the upcoming campaign, NDC National Publicity Secretary Osa Director confirmed several key appointments in an official party statement. Political analyst and IT strategist Ibrahim Abdulkarim was named Director-General of the National Campaign Council.
Former Arise News presenter Dr. Constance Ikokwu was designated as the official campaign spokesperson, while Osa Director was appointed to direct the campaign’s media and communications operations, supported by Ikeddi Isiguzo as Deputy Director.
Party representatives underscored that the new infrastructure will enable the NDC to execute a well-coordinated, issue-based, and grass-roots campaign across all geopolitical zones.
