In a major political move ahead of the 2027 general election, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) released its revised, expanded Presidential Campaign Council list on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, appointing high-profile opposition leaders as state campaign coordinators.

The expanded list features Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT; Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State (All Progressives Grand Alliance – APGA) as Anambra coordinator; and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State as Osun coordinator.

The appointments were confirmed in a formal statement issued on Tuesday by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru. The party announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who serves as Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, will officially inaugurate the council on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The inclusion of key non-APC figures underscores President Tinubu’s strategy to build a broad cross-party coalition ahead of his re-election bid.

Under the revised hierarchy, key appointments include; Vice-Chairmen: APC National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda (Vice-Chairman II).

Deputy Vice-Chairmen, Senate President Godswill Akpabio (Deputy Vice-Chairman I), House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas (Deputy Vice-Chairman II), and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Deputy Vice-Chairman III).

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma serves as Secretary, supported by Dr. Surajudeen Basiru as Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala Usman as Assistant Secretary.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole was named Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation, with Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy House Speaker Benjamin Kalu serving as Deputy Director-Generals I and II for the South, respectively.

Addressing concerns regarding party loyalty and political alignment, Senator Basiru assured party loyalists that ratification processes remain dynamic and that further updates will be communicated as campaign operations expand across the country.
