The Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Muluku, has urged youths to shun violence and religious intolerance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Muluku made the call on Saturday while playing host to members of Munatare DHE Group and the Community Youths Forum from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
The commissioner, who is also the Overseeing Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, identified peace as a necessary requirement for the development of any society.
He appreciated the groups for the visit and assured them of his support to enable them succeed.
“I want to appreciate you for identifying with me and I want to assure you of my support at all times.
“I want to call on you to continue to drum support for the APC to succeed beyond 2027.
“I also want to call on you to embrace peace at all times, as peace is priceless and non-negotiable”.
Muluku further assured the people of the area of more dividends of democracy for the overall development of the area and the state at large.
He also called on them and other citizens to be law-abiding, respect constituted authority, and tolerate one another irrespective of their ethnic and religious affiliations.
Earlier, the leader of Munatare DHE Group, Mr. Bello Hamidu, and the leader of the Community Youths Forum, Mr. Aminu Yakubu, both from Nasarawa Eggon local government area, said the visit was to identify with the commissioner over his purposeful leadership.
While assuring the commissioner of their readiness to mobilise support for the APC in 2027, the groups also assured him of their loyalty and support for him to succeed.
