The theme for the 2026 commemoration, “Invest in Peace—For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day,” emphasizes the imperative of sustained collective action in building and nurturing harmonious societies. ​
Speaking on behalf of the First Lady in a statement issued at 9:30 AM GMT+1 in Abuja, official communications representatives highlighted Mrs. Tinubu’s emphasis on starting peacebuilding efforts within local communities. ​”Peace begins in our homes and extends to our schools, workplaces, and communities,” First Lady Oluremi Tinubu stated in her address.
